The Girl on the Slow Path by Cherazor The Girl on the Slow Path by Cherazor
My FB page: [link]

I've always wanted to make myself a ridiculously huge historical dress, so when I saw Madame de Pompadour's incredible dresses in the Doctor Who episode "the Girl in the Fireplace"...well, I finally had an excuse then, didn't I? :XD: The dress was a lot of fun to make and, while it wasn't hard per say, I had to a lot of things I've never done before. I've made entire suits and trench coats, but I've never had to gather anything before, for instance!

To my utter surprise, I was even lucky enough to win first prize for "Best Craftsmanship" at NärCon Vinter about a week ago.

Except for the fact that I've been drowning in school work and stuff, yeah. *laughs*

I've been roasting alive, but I'll live. Any plans to do something related to the DW anniversary special in November?

I'm glad to hear that, at least. :) Well, I have no concrete plans at the moment. I might attend the official DW celebration in the UK, depending on the state of my wallet, but I'm not sure yet. ^^

Beautiful! What kind of fabric did you use? It looks like really nice quality...

The main dress fabric was a polyester/cotton fabric that I managed to find after much searching. It's absolutely gorgeous, I have to agree. I fell completely in love with it when I found it. ^^;

Cool! Thanks for letting me know. It's so hard to find nice fabric anymore... :/
