Guide: Posing in Cosplay by Cherazor Guide: Posing in Cosplay by Cherazor
Mah first real tutorial!

Back when I started cosplaying, I was a mess. Trust me. You do NOT want to see the hideous poses I made! *laughs* I've done a lot of progress since then. I'm not great, I'll admit that to anyone, but I'm not doing as many mistakes before. So, I thought...why not make a small guide? With some luck, I'll save someone from making the same mistakes I did back when I started. Goodness knows I would have needed this tutorial back then! :XD:

Enjoy.

Tutorial written and edited by me. Photo and posing by both me (~Cherazor) and my sister ~BennyBerry

These tips were incredibly helpful, thank you so much! The length of this guide is perfect, and with the aesthetically-pleasing pictures/text, it's an easy page to read through; on top of that, the contrasting examples made your points incredibly valid!

This is super helpful to read! When I went to con last year, I felt like half my pictures had really, REALLY awkward poses. Gonna be using these tips

Thank you ;3;. I cosplayed for the first time a few months ago for a con, and surprisingly people wanted to take photos of me. I made the most horrible and awkward poses EVAR. I felt so ashamed :ohnoes:.

This is actually super-helpful. I'm always a victim of several of these. Y'know, you THINK you got a kickass photo and then as soon as you look at it your ego inflates a bit.

So, thanks for sharing!

So useful tutorial !
It's incredible how many details make a shot a good one!
And it's incredible also how many gestures the "model" can do to get a better result, never really though about this ^^; :stupidme:...

Will be my treasure this little guide, thank you again for sharing it :thanks:.

Oh, well I'm so very glad you liked it. :) I hope the tips will help you out in the future! Getting good photos is hard, I know. I don't always get great photos either, and I wrote that guide, so don't worry if it takes a bit of practice.

Always glad to've been of service to someone!

I'm very glad to've been to some service to you, then! :D Yeah, the dead hand is just one of those things that happens really often - it's so easy to forget about a hand (or a foot, or whatever). Unfortunately I have no other guides at the moment. I keep mean to make more, but they take a lot of time to produce, so...

One thing I learned the hard way - photos from the "somewhat-under-angle" are big NO-NOs. Except if you're close-to-a-sceleton thin it'll make you look fatter than you actually are. So do not let them take a photo that way! xD

:iconcherazor:
Cherazor Featured By Owner Jul 21, 2012  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
Haha, yeah I know the angle you speak of, though it's actually worked for me upon occasion. Probably more luck than anything, though! :XD: It's those pesky angles - it's a pain to find the good ones that works for you. It's worth it, but the road there is not fun!
